Joe began installing kitchens in 2003 using Ikea Akurum cabinets in San Diego County. He worked for several certified Ikea cabinet installation companies before obtaining his California General Contractor’s License #923077 in 2009. Soon after, he started Joe Runkle Construction Company, which specializes in designing, building, and installing Ikea kitchen cabinets in Southern California.

Looking to update Akurum cabinets?
In 2015, Ikea revamped its cabinet design, transitioning from the Akurum cabinets to the new Sektion cabinets. We still work with the Akurum cabinets that are under Ikea warranty through Semihandmade. We can replace the fronts and panels that have yellowed or delaminated, with prices starting at $75 per cabinet.
